Ngaski

Ngaski local government area is domiciled in Kebbi state, Northwest Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Wara. The LGA is a part of the illustrious Yauri Emirate and consists of several towns and villages such as Birnin Yauri, Chipanini, Utono, Wara, Kwanga, Utono, Ngaski, and Libata. The estimated population of Ngaski LGA is put at 215,608 inhabitants with the area mostly populated by members of the Fulani ethnic group. The Fufulde and Hausa languages are commonly spoken in the area while the religion of Islam is widely practiced in the LGA.

GEOGRAPHY OF NGASKI

Ngaski LGA occupies a total area of 2,633 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 32 degrees centigrade. The LGA lies off the shores of the Kainji lake and has the River Niger flowing through its territory. The average wind speed in Ngaski LGA is put at 10 km/h while the total precipitation in the area is put at 1300 mm of rainfall per annum.

ECONOMY OF NGASKI

Farming is an important economic activity in Ngaski LGA with crops such as rice and groundnut grown in the LGA. Trade also flourishes in the LGA with the area hosting several markets where a variety of commodities are bought and sold. Other important economic activities undertaken by the people of Ngaski LGA include fishing, hunting, leatherworks, and craftsmaking.
