Immediately after the creation of Yobe State, the then Yobe state Government appereciated the need to improve the condations and quality of education, particully technical  education in the state. In consenance    with this thinking, a decision was taken towords the end of 1992 to establish a Yobe State polytechnic and to be located in Damaturu, the State Capital.
