Born as the last child to a large family from Akwa Ibom state with six other girls, Yvonne attended Airforce Primary School in Victoria Island, Lagos, for her elementary education, and concluded her secondary education at Holy Child College, Lagos. From there, she went and studied History and International Studies on a part-time basis at Lagos State University's Lekki campus.

Yvonne's career as a media personality began when she worked at Rhythm FM as an OAP, alongside Wild Child (IK Osakioduwa) on the Dance Party show for only a year before she got the opportunity to switch to TV. In an interview held in 2012, she spoke to Adeola Adeyemo of BellaNaija of how the vacancy for a TV presenter opened up at Silverbird TV and a colleague of hers persuaded her to interview for it. Despite her self-proclaimed flop at the interview, she got the position and became a Co-hostess on popular TV show E-weekly on STV, and has not looked back since then.

After her first television interview with former MBGN, Adaeze Igwe, Yvonne has had sit-downs with several other celebrities and has hosted numerous events including the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant and President Jonathan’s Dinner With Showbiz Stakeholders.

As an entrepreneur, Vixen has ventured into Showbiz/Image consultancy and is also the C.E.O of a handcrafted jewelry line called i-Bling. The TV personality, under her media company Vixen Red Carpet Ltd signed a collaboratory contract with Pulse Ng in 2015 to produce her ingenious show, Drive Time With Vixen. The show is a conversation-based lifestyle programme where she shares some of the most intimate and fun moments of the brightest stars while driving them around in some of the most exquisite cars available in the market. The firm is a full service event coverage, concept development and content creation company.

Although not married, the Akwa Ibom born media personality is rumoured to be dating an unnamed foreigner.  In March 2017, she penned down a controversial message where she made her point known that she wouldn’t tolerate domestic violence. She disclosed that if her future husband dare lay his hands on her, she would swing him across the room.
