Hon Nnnanna began his secondary education at Mgbidi Secondary School in Mgbidi, Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State. He continuing his secondary education at Bola Memorial School Ikeja, Lagos and completed it by obtaining the West African School Certificate (WASSCE) in 1989 from Victory High School in Ikeja, Lagos. He had his tertiary education at Abia State University, Uturu and graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Hon Nnanna worked as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in the construction and oil & gas sectors. He also served in the Imo State Marketing Board, Wrestling Association and Education Board.

From 2003 to 2007 he served as a member of the Imo State House of Assembly representing Mbaise under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He was re-elected in 2007 and served as the Chief of Staff of the State Assembly until 2010.

In 2011 Hon Nnanna was elected under the platform of the People's Democratic Party to represent Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte Mabise Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives. He served as the Vice Chairman at Federal Capital Territory Committee. He was also a member of Public Accounts Committee, Petroleum Resources (Down Stream) Committee, Youth and Social Development Committee, Inter-Parliamentary Relations Committee and Rural Development Committee.

He was re-elected in 2015. His legislative interest is to ensure efficient public service delivery, ensuring good medical & educational system, and enhancing capacity of democratic institutions.
