Emmanuel Chinenye Emenike was born on May 10th, 1987 in Otuocha, Aguleri, Anambra East local government area of Anambra State, Nigeria, to the family of Pa. Felix Emenike Ndukwu. He hails from Umuaka in Njaba local government area of Imo State. He is a Nigerian professional footballer and currently plays as a striker for Spanish side Las Palmas where he is on loan from Olympiacos in Greece.

Emenike began his career in professional football with Delta force in 2007. He had a difficult beginning as he used to go on foot for his training and back home. After being with the Club for a year, he moved to Black Aces in 2008. While at Black Aces, he made seven appearances and scored three goals before moving to Cape Town for the 2008/2009 session. At Cape Town, he was in the reserve squad, and featured less. Emenike appeared in 16 matches and scored a goal during the 2008/2009 season with Capetown.

In 2009 however, he caught the eye of Karabükspor. The club thereafter signed a three-year contract with the striker and he became an important part of the team. Between 2009 and 2011, he made 51 appearances and netted 30 goals, which is probably the most successful season in his playing career.

In 2011, Emenike moved to Fenerbahçe but immediately switched to Spartak Moscow for a fee of €10 million. During his two year stay spell at Spartak, Emenike made a total of 42 appearances and scored 21 goals. In the summer of 2013, he moved back to his former Turkish club Fenerbache, for a fee worth around €13m. On 11 July 2015, Emenike signed for Al Ain on a season-long loan, but however spent only six months at the club. On 31 January 2016, he made another loan switch to English club West Ham, scoring only two goals. Both goals were scored in a 5-1 FA Cup trouncing of Blackburn Rovers.

On 6 July 2017, Emenike joined Greek champions Olympiacos for a fee of €3.8 million on a two-year deal. On 25 July 2017, he made his first appearance for the club, scoring a last minute goal, which help Olympiacos to a 3–1 victory against FK Partizan in the 1st leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round. On 19 September 2017, thanks to a second half brace from Emenike, Olympiacos won 2-1 against Asteras Tripoli. This was at a 2017-2018 Greek Cup clash at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium. Due to lack of playing time in Greece, on the last day of the winter transfer window 2018 he agreed to join Las Palmas on loan until the end of the season.

Emenike was first called up to the Nigeria national football team for a friendly against Sierra Leone in 2011. His first international goal for Nigeria came on June 1, 2011, during a friendly against Nigeria. He was part of the Nigerian team that won the 2013 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa, scoring crucial goals including a 30-yard free kick in a 2–1 win over Côte d'Ivoire in the quarter finals. He was the top scorer at the tournament. In October, 2015, the Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, announced that he was retiring from the national team after five years. He has scored 92 goals in 236 fixtures for his various clubs.

In September 2016, Emenike got engaged to his girlfriend Iheoma Nnadi and on August 8, 2017, the coupled had their first child, a girl, born a UK hospital. Announcing the birth of his child, he wrote on instagram, “Blessed and highly favoured. Our princess is here. #daddyduties.”He is a Catholic and has previously denied rumours of a conversion to Islam. In May 2015, his dad Pa. Felix Emenike Ndukwu passed on.
