Victor Agali

Victor Okechukwu Agali was born on December 29th, 1978 in his hometown of Okpanam, in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. Igali was a professional footballer who last played for Chinese club, Jiangsu Sainty F.C. He was a striker during his playing days, and also featured for the Nigeria national team.

In 1997, Agali joined French club Olympique Marseille. Finding it hard to establish a first team place, he quickly moved to Sporting Toulon Var and subsequently to Germany, where he played in Hansa Rostock and Schalke 04. From 2005 to 2007 he played in the Turkish Premier Super League, returning to German Bundesliga team Rostock in August 2007. At Rostock Agali did not do well, after just one goal in 23 league matches he was given a free transfer to the Greek club Skoda Xanthi FC. After a season with Greek club Skoda Xanthi the Nigerian striker has signed for Anorthosis Famagusta. He moved in summer 2010 to the Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Sainty.

Agali has played for Nigeria at a number of occasions, including the 2000 Summer Olympics. During his days with the Super Eagles, he formed a formidable striker partnership with Nwankwo Kanu which was fondly dubbed the 'Twin Towers'. The tall and lanky forward was particular loved by the Super Eagles fans due to his proficiency in aerial duels.

On December 27th, 2009, the ex-international was arrested at Schiphol airport near Amsterdam for carrying two fake passports. Sources close to the player revealed that the former Super Eagles star is not doing too well financially. Despite earning an average pay of £25,000 per week while in Germany, some failed investments and a clearly lavish lifestyle has seen him scrapping financially. He was last seen hosting a Reality TV show in Lagos.
