Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo popularly known as Kcee or "Limpopo King" or "Okpekete Master" was born on April 18, 1979 in Ajegunle, Lagos, Nigeria. He is from Uli in Anambra state, Nigeria
"Limpopo" to Kcee is just a word he made up which means "Come lets have fun" and "Okpekete" is an Igbo word for beautiful lady.

He had his primary school education at Tolu Primary School, Ajegunle, moving on to Central High school, Isolo for his Secondary school education before going on to the University Of Nsukka where he bagged a degree in Theatre Arts.
His early ambition was to become professional footballer and because of this, he played for Julius Berger and Puma football clubs locally. He started singing when he was in secondary school after joining his church choir.
His father who was a disc jockey (DJ) and had over 4 Record Sales Shops back then was initially not in support of Kcee's career choice as he felt that music was not really paying and would have rather had his son be a Doctor or a Lawyer. He however became won over when Kcee started bringing money home.
He is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who started his music career in the Hip Hop duo group called “Kc Presh” which was made up of "Kcee - Kingsley Okonkwo" and "Presh - Precious John". They disbanded in 2011 after twelve years each to pursue a solo career.
His music career started in 2002 when as "Kc Presh" he participated and won the “Star Quest” competition following Eedris Abdulkareem’s Advice. They signed a record deal with “Kennis Music" and debuted in 2003. In 2006, they founded their own label – “KP Records” which was later re-launched as "Blingz Record". They released an album under the Blingz Records Imprint titled "No Time" with the lead single ‘Shokori bobo’ in 2008.
Kcee ventured into furniture business in 2009 – 2010, importing furnitures into the country, trying to do something else that was not music but he didn’t derive pleasure and satisfaction from it.
He is currently signed to Five Star Music owned by his younger brother, Emeka Okonkwo aka E- Money. He has worked with top Nigerian producers like Del B who is behind the production of his hit single “Limpopo”. Before Limpopo , he already recorded eight songs and according to the singer, When he recorded Limpopo, which was written by Harrysong, it took him less than 40minutes.
In 2013, he released his debut album called "Take over" featuring artistes like star-boy Wizkid, Flavour N’abania, D’Banj, Timaya, Mr. Songz, Skiibii, Phyno fino, Davido and Mavin Record boss Don Jazzy.

He signed a multi million endorsement deal with Tele communications company, MTN in 2013.
He was appointed Peace Ambassador Of The Federal Republic Of Nigeria for African First Ladies Peace Mission by Patience Johnathan in 2015.
Kcee was once married to Ijeoma Okonkwo who he proposed to in a hot air baloon in Dubai, 2010, however the pair has since split up.
He has tattoos on his upper arm which he got done in Spain, A rose flower, which is a sign of love, two birds inside the rose to signify freedom, a diamond by the side which stands for riches, and then there is a star, which is a symbol of his image.
