Empress grew up in Imo state alongside her brothers, John and Aquila who would later become screen and media personalities. She studied English at the Olabisi Onabanjo University in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

Empress grew to prominence in the movie industry after bursting onto the scene in 1995, acting in more movies such as Red Hot, When Love Die, You Broke My Heart, You Broke My Heart 2, Love of My Life, The Pastor & Harlot, and She Devil. She is Best known for her career as an actress, having made her name acting in the '90s with stellar performances in movies such as Missing Angel (2004), Missing Angel 2 (2004) and Liberian Girl (2006).

As part of her corporate social responsibility, in 2006, Empress launched a foundation called House of Empress, which caters for kids with special needs. The foundation celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2016. The dark-skinned controversial actress has gone off the radar in recent times, appearing in news only for her business and philanthropist activities.

Empress Njamah Personal Life

Empress has been embroiled in several scandals, most especially her long-standing feud with artiste, Timaya, with whom she was once in a relationship. The artiste was on record, saying that one of his worst regrets was ever being in a relationship with her. The actress fired back saying that she was the one who regretted the relationship most. She sued Timaya once for assault, after the actor allegedly pulled her car over, dragged her out and beat her up. The matter was later withdrawn from court.
