Oladapo Daniel popularly known as D'banj, The Koko master, Eja Nla, Skibanj or Banga lee was born to a Nigerian military officer who commanded an artillery regiment and a devout church dignitary buisnesss woman who hails from Shagamu in Ogun state.

His brother, Dayo Oyebanjo who died at the age of 17 taught D'banj how to play the harmonica which he kept on playing after Dayo's death ''To remember him''

D'banj who was expected to follow in his father's military career was enrolled into the Nigeria Military School at age eleven, however, he resisted the system and dis-enrolled from the school after three years, he proceeded into the Nigeria Navy Secondary school, Ibara Abeokuta where he completed his secondary school education. He then went on to Lagos State University to study Mechanical Engineering but had to withdraw due to constant strikes and several irregularities in the school. He moved to London to complete his studies in Mechanical Engineering but instead met Don Jazzy who was trying to make it as a songwriter and producer.

His career as a musician kicked off when he travelled to the UK and met the JJC and 419 squad. Don jazzy and D'banj returned to Nigeria to form the Mo' hits group in 2004, releasing his first single "Tongolo" which was paid for by his mother. His first albumn was "No long thing" in 2005 and since then, he has remained one of the biggest music merchants in Nigeria music industry till date.

He released his second studio album in 2006 titled "Rundown Funk u up" and in 2008, released his third album "The Entertainer" with the singles like "Gbono Feli Feli", "Kimon", "Olorun Maje" and ''Entertainer" in the front line. In June 2011, Dbanj was signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D music record label as an artiste.

After the break up of the Mo' Hits crew in 2012, Don Jazzy, D’Prince, Dr SID, Wande Coal started Mavin Records while D’banj founded DB Records signing his younger brother Kayswitch to the label alongside two producers, Jaysleek and Deevee. he released "Oliver twist" in thesame year, which was an international chart topper.

in 2017, he released the album titled "King Don Come" featuring artistes from the likes of Gucci Mane, Wande Coal, Harry Songs, Bucie and Busiswa.

Apart from music, D'banj is also an actor, featuring in several short films including Kanye West's film "Cruel Summers".

He was ranked the fourth richest African Artiste in Africa according to list released in September 2013 by Forbes Africa and Channel O Awards.

In 2016, D'banj secretly married his then girlfriend Didi Lineo Kilgrow at a low key ceremony both in Lagos and Abuja much to the shock of his fans who had thought he would end up with Genevive Nnaji who he obviously eulogized. In 2017, they welcomed a son, Daniel Oyebanjo the Third.
