In 2008, Ezenwa started his professional career with the Nigerian football club, Ocean Boys F.C. He played 56 games until 2008. On September 1, 2008, Ezenwa was transferred to FC Heartland on a free transfer. For the club, he played 61 games before leaving the club in 2011. On July 1, 2011, Ezenwa moved to Sharks F.C. while his market value was estimated at £45 thousand. Before ending his career in a team, he made 45 appearances until 2014. He captained the home-based Super Eagles to a second place finish at the 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco.
