Jude Abaga popularly known as M.I or Mr International was born in Jos, Plateau State on October 4, 1981 to Pastor and Pastor Mrs Abaga. He is from Takum, Taraba state. Jude has two brothers, Jesse Abaga(Jesse Jagz) who is also in the Nigerian and African music scene, and Jason Abaga.
Jude Abaga is 39 years old.
He attended Baptist High School, Jos before moving on to Calvin College, Michigan to pursue a career in Business and Economics.
His love for music stemmed from a 7-key mini piano which his mother got for him as a child, launching him into the music world.
Jude’s venture into the hip hop world started with the sampling of musical works from DMX and Lauryn Hill as early as 1998 but his music career began when he returned to Nigeria in 2003. On returning to Nigeria, he teamed up with his brother;Jesse Jagz, IcePrince, Ruby Gyang, Threadstone, Lindsay, Moses (Elbulk) and E kelly to form Loopy Music. He soon got signed to Chocolate Music which made him move from Jos to Abuja.
He rose to prominence in 2006 when his song 'Crowd Mentality' in Jos which is his hometown. He went on to release his critically acclaimed debut studio album, 'Talk About It' on December 11, 2008 and then another album titled by “M.I 2” in 2010. After working on singles for some time, he finally released his third studio album titled 'The Chairman' in 2015.
He has produced and featured on the works of artists like, Don Jazzy, Threadstone,Kel, Djinee, Shifi (Styl Plus), Jesse Jags, Ice Prince, Ruby, Lindsey, Leony, Wizkid etc
In June 2015, he became the Chief Executive Officer of Chocolate City.

M.I. made some amateur attempts at comedy while he was starting, but decided to stick to music when he figured out he was not good at it since nobody laughed at his jokes but him.
M.I was appointed a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador in 2012.
In 2013 he was appointed by Nigerian Telecommunication company Glo Mobile as a brand ambassador alongside other Nigerian artistes like Omawunmi, Burna Boy etc.
He was a Judge in Glo X-Factor, the Nigerian version of the reality singing show in 2013.
M.I Abaga was knighted on October 9, 2012 as UNODC’s Goodwill Ambassador for Human Trafficking
He runs a production company, Rytchus Era Productions with his brother Jesse Jagz.
