Folarin Falana was born on October 27,1990 into a family of three Children as the Son of Femi Falana, a highly respected Lawyer and Activist and Funmi Falana who is also a lawyer and the disciplinarian in the house.

Falz attended St. Leos Catholic Primary School, Ikeja Lagos, Nigeria. His Secondary School education was at Olashore International Secondary School, Osun state before going on to study Law at University of Reading in the United Kingdom where he graduated with an LLB honors degree in law. He moved back to Nigeria to attend Law school at Nigerian Law School Abuja and was called to bar on February 2012.
His mother was not in support of him leaving Law to go into the entertainment industry but his Father who was the liberal one of the two encouraged him 'secretly'.
Falz is a rapper, actor and song writer. His music career began in secondary school when he formed a group called 'The School Boys' with his friends. They took music seriously and he released some compilations of their recordings titled 'Shakara: The Mixtape' in 2009.
Falz who calls his genre of music the 'Wazup music' which is the fusion of faux Yuruba language (with an accent) and English comical rap lines on January 2, 2014 was listed on TooXclusive's 'Artists to watch in 2014' and on notJustOk's list of 'The 10 most Gifted Rappers in Nigeria' and on May 30, 2014, he released his debut studio album 'Wazup Guy' which was received to critical acclaim.
He shot into limelight after his song titled 'Marry me' featuring Poe and Yemi Alade won him a nomination in the 'Best collaboration of the year' at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
On 31 January 2015, he released a single titled 'Ello Bae' which won him a nomination in the 'Best Street Hop Artiste of the year' at the 2015 Headies.
On 17 November 2015, his studio album 'Stories that touch' was released. On October 27, 2016, Falz collaborated with Simi to release 'Chemistry' after having featured in her earlier singles like 'Jamb Question'
At the 2018 Headies awards, he was nominated for Best Performer, Best Rap Single for his song ' Something Lite' and Best Rap Album. He however, did not win any.
He owns an independent record label called Bahd Guys Records.
His acting as 'Segun' in Jenifa's diary has also put him out there and this feat will see him become the new host of the popular Big Friday Show on MTV Base.
He has a clothing line, 'Ello Bae' clothing line which did not do badly in the clothing market.
Falz has gotten various brand ambassadorship such as Webmall, an online shopping store for clothes, footwears, electronics, mobile phones, laptops, tops as well as Global Telecommunication Company, MTN and Cheki.
The name 'Falz the BAHD Guy' came from abridging his first namen Falana to give Falz and the 'BAHD guy' part of his name is acronym for Brilliant and Highly Distinct. Falz is a Shy Person in reality but while on stage or in the booth, his alter ego, Brother Taju who is bolder and crazier than he is takes over.
Inspite of his hilarious 'Ello Bae' skits on Facebook and Instagram, Falz insists that he is not a Comedian.
He is in an undisclosed relationship although it has been rumoured that he was dating one of Wizkid's exes and some strongly believe it is Simi. He however states in an interview that seeing Banky W and Adesuwa get married put a lot of pressure on him to also tow that path.
