Belinda Effah Early Life

Belinda was born as the 12th child of her parent's 14 children. Her father was a naval officer and she was brought up by her parents alongside my siblings and cousins. She attended Hillside International Nursery andd Primary School, after which she attended the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Port Harcourt. She proceeded to the University of Calabar, where she studied Genetics and Bio-Technology.

Belinda Effah Career

Belinda started her career as an actress and her television debut was Shallow waters in 2005. The TV series was popular and she played her roles intelligently. It was not until 2011 that she started featuring in serious movies such as Kokoma, Udeme Mmi and a couple of other movies. She took a break from acting to participate in the TV reality show, Next Movie Star, where she came out fifth place.

Belinda also worked as a TV presenter for Sound City before she left to start her own show called Break with Belinda. Belinda has starred in so many movies and she still has a lot up her sleeves.

She once shared her experience of sexual harrasment in Nollywood. "I am not going to deny the fact that someone at some point made passes at me. This was when I was starting out in the industry but right now, I’ve not had that experience. When people call me for jobs, they are very professional about it. I thank God that I didn’t fall into that trap and it was even a ‘nobody’ who made the pass at that time. Some ladies toed that line but where are they today? When you sell your birthright, you can’t retrieve it again," she said.
