Rukayat Akinsanya (popularly known as Rukky Sanda) was born on August 23rd, 1984 in Ikorodu, Lagos state, Nigeria. She is an actress, script-writer, director, producer, and philanthropist.

Rukky Sanda Early Life

Rukky was born into a polygamous family with Muslim parents. She is the 10th and last child of her family. She attended Lagos State Model College and went ahead to Lagos State University where she bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance.

Rukky Sanda Career

Rukky began acting in 2004 while she was still a student at the University during a University strike. She opted out when the strike was called off. She returned to acting again in 2007 after completing her university education. According to her, her attraction to movie then and now is not the same thing. At the beginning, she met her sister’s friend who used to work in a production company. She was in LASU and school was on strike so she just told her she wanted to act, her friend said let’s go, so they went. They shot the movie overnight and it was too stressful and she said she’s not doing again, that was in 2004. She lost interest and she didn’t act again till 2007. “But it is different now because i actually love the art of production and creating something. It’s actually more fun for me now because now I know I have a job. I can say this is what I do, I make films.” She said in her words. Some of her movies include; Lethal Woman, Obscure Motives, Lovelorn, Miami Heat, Keeping My Man, White Chapel, The Seekers, Legal War, Campus Love, Keeping my Man, Gold Diggin, and What’s Within?

Before she began acting, she used to deal in the buying and selling of clothes and fashion accessories. Rukky Sanda now owns her production company “Rukky Sanda Productions” and Rukky Sanda Studios, in Lagos State, where filmmakers could rent up-to-date equipment, as well as an editing studio for post production.

She has written and produced several movies in Nigeria. In 2008 she produced “Lethal Woman”. In 2009 she produced “Obscure Motives”. In 2012 she produced “Lovelorn” and “Miami Heat” and in 2013 she produced “Keeping My Man”. She makes her money from directing movies, producing movies and acting in movies as an actress. She recently acquires a house in Lekki, Lagos, and few days later, she added thirty-five million naira latest Range Rovers Sport known as Evogue to some of her cars.

Rukky Sanda Personal Life

Rukky is a very fashionable person. The industrious Rukky is yet to settle down but says that marriage is indeed a very beautiful thing. She has dated a gost of famous men some of whom are; Akon, Ik Ogbonna, and John Dumelo.
