Akintemi attended Federal Government College, Kano. He studied Mass Communication and majored in Broadcast journalism and production at the Ogun State Polytechnic, now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic. He also received a postgraduate diploma in Information technology. Kayode Akintemi Career

Akintemi is an award-winning broadcast journalist who has consistently merged his core skill set, broadcast journalism and information technology to enable him practice across platforms on-air and online. He joined Channels Television in March 2011 as the General Manager in charge of Operations and was responsible for the core broadcast operations of the station.

Akintemi started his Broadcasting career as presenter of “Teen and Twenty Beats” with Radio Nigeria-2 AM/FM, in Lagos, Nigeria in the 1980s. Between 1987 and 1993, he worked with Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), Nigeria, was Lecturer of Radio/TV Programmes Production at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, and managed Ogun State Television (OGTV) corps of Presenters and Newscasters, as Head of Presentation, presenting, producing / directing numerous television programmes.

He has extensive experience in News & Programmes Content development and production. He has strong information technology training and skills, which has positioned him now as subject matter expert where social and new media are being discussed in line with digital broadcasting. He is a member of the Radio Academy, London, member of Royal Television Society in the United Kingdom, Senior Member of Society of Information Technology Managers (SOCITM) in the UK, Member of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and was a member of Institute of Directors (IOD), London for many years.

As a consultant Project Manager, Kayode has extensive experience and training in using technology and implementing change management. He is a certified Prince2 Project Manager, with vast experience of management of systems implementation with budgets exceeding £7Million and projects where between £80Million and £250Million of Business investment were at risk. He was the host of Wake Up Africa – Friday Special with Mr. Kay which he presented between 6a.m. and 9a.m. every Friday morning on the only Licensed African Radio station in London – Voice of Africa Radio 94.3FM.

Mr. Akintemi hosted Special Interviews on BEN Television London, Sky Channel 184 for several years before returning to Nigeria to join Channels Television. Kayode has also worked with London Boroughs of Hillingdon, Havering, Islington and Tower Hamlet as Consultant Project Manager, delivering a variety of Projects with key elements around eGovernment solutions and implementation. He left Channels in 2016, and is currently the managing director and editor-in-Chief of News Channel, Plus TV Africa, based in Lagos, Nigeria.
