Duncan Mighty Early Life

Duncan Mighty had his Primary, Secondary and University education in Port Harcout, Rivers State. Growing up, Duncan Mighty was an Instrumentalist, Playing drums in Church and acting as Choir Director and when he eventually left for school, he studied Audio Engineering. Before graduation, he did his I.T at Dolphin Studios at Muson Centre, Lagos and during his Youth Service, he served as a sound instructor for Benson and Hedges.

Duncan Mighty Career

He returned to Portharcout from Lagos in 2006 rendering his services to recording companies D Large Records and 360 Records before patnering with Chris Aire to form AireMighty Records.

He released his debut studio album 'Koliwater' in 2008. 'Koliwater' was a huge success and featured songs like 'Ijeoma', 'Scatter my Dada' and 'Ako na Uche'.

In 2010, he released his second album 'Ahamefuna (Legacy)', the 15 track album featured songs like 'Obianuju' and 'Port Harcout son' which brought him fame and huge social media followers.

In September 2012, he released his third studio album titled 'Footprints' featuring some local and international musicians like Timaya, Shaggy, Otuu Sax, Sandaz Black and Black Diamond Wande Coal.

He went on to form his own label, Young Wealth Records and produced his fourth album 'Grace and Talent' in 2014 under it.

He was nominated for-

• Atiste of the Year in the Headies 2011
•  Best Album of the Year 2011 for Ahamefuna (Legacy) at The Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
• Hottest Single of the Year 2011 at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards for 'I don't give a shot'.
• African Artist of the Year 2012 at the Ghana Music Awards .

He was honored by the UN as a Peace Ambassador.

Duncan Mighty Personal Life

In May 2014, he accused the then Rivers State Government, Rotimi Amaechi in an open letter of owing him the sum of Fifty Million Naira balance for his performance at a youth concert for which he was only paid an upfront of 10 million Naira. The state's commissioner for information however denied the allegation stating clearly that they owed the musician nothing.

He married Vivien Okechukwu on 25 July 2015.
