Innocent Udeme Udofot popularly known by his stage name, MC Galaxy is a famous Nigerian singer, songwriter, recording artist, stage performer, dancer, model and a comedian born on 2nd May, 1985 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
Innocent Udeme Udofot is 38 years old.
He had both his primary and secondary school education in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Before you hear the MC's voice, the first thing you see is his dance moves which has succeeded in capturing and keeping the hearts of his fans. He debuted on the screen in 2009 as a stand-up comedian performing at comedy shows both locally and internationally. He took part in the Davido's Skelewu dance competition in the same year, winning the five thousand naira cash prize.
Ater winning the GLO Rock and Rule Dance Competition in 2009, MC Galaxy broke into the music scene with his hit single, “Nek-Unek” featuring Davido. The single had over 6 million views within its first month of release on YouTube. In 2012, he was featured in Iyanya's hit single, "Kukere" collaborating with him on the dance.
In 2013, MC Galaxy came out with his "Sekem" single and dance step. He held a competition for the dance in which people had to compete for a chance to be in his music video. The single was released under his MCG Entertainment label. In 2014, he released “Ketekete” and in 2017, he released his first debut studio album “Breakthrough” which was followed by his second album "MMM" which featured African artistes such as Sarkodie, Kelli Pyle, Neza, Beniton, Swizz Beatz and others and which he says was inspired by the message that everybody could make money as we all were potential money making machines, this was following the MMM scandal that rocked the country in 2017.
He has collaborated with artistes like; Davido, Iyanya, Wizkid, Harrysong, Kcee, Flavour, Don Jazzy, D Banj, Olamide, P-Square, Honey Willis, Effjay, amongst Others.
He has been nominated for several awards like the 2014 Indigenous Artist of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, 2015 Indigenous Artist of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainment Award and 2016 Collaboration of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
MC Galaxy hosts his own comedy show, “Comedy Nite with MC Galaxy” in which he gives new upcoming comedians a chance to showcase their talent. He also owns a record label, "MCG Entertainment". He has an endorsement deal with Upfront Bookings.
He took the name MC Galaxy at the suggestion of a friend who pointed out that since Galaxy is a collection of stars and he is a comedian, dancer and musician, it goes without saying.
During the MMM scandal, MC Galaxy claimed he lost 25 million to the Ponzi scheme.
He was arrested in 2015 for allegedly assaulting his tour manager.
