Ycee's educational background includes some time at Dr. Soyemi Memorial Nursery and Primary school, Festac town, Lagos from where he went on to Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Ojo and then the University of Lagos studying for a degree in Marine Biology.

Ycee, popular for his single Jagaban featuring Olamide in the remix officially started  music in 2010, getting signed to Tinny Entertainment in 2012 and releasing his first official single in the same year.

In 2015, after some on and off releases, Ycee came back fully with "Condo" featuring Patoranking which got nominated for the Best Collaboration of the Year” award at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. He soon released other hit singles,”Jagaban”,”Omo Alhaji” and “Jagaban remix, featuring Olamide which were club favorites and chart toppers getting him nominated for the Revelation of the Year Award at the 2015 edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards, as well as earning him a nomination for Best Artist in African Pop category at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards.

In October 2016, Ycee signed a record deal contract with Sony Music and in 2017, released his debut studio album “The First Wave” with hit singles like Jagaban, Link Up, Juice, Say Bye Bye, Omo Alhaji, Panda Cover and Smile on Me

With his creative mix of Yoruba, Pidgin and English lyrics, Ycee seeks to wow his audience not just by creating a song they can dance to but one with meaningful lyrics. He has hosted  many live concerts and  performed at different events including his Juice Concert at the O2 Academy, 16 Parkfield Street, London, United Kingdom in 2018.
