About Bali Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Bali is a local government area situated in Taraba state, Northcentral Nigeria. The headquarters of the area are in the town of Bali and comprises of a number of towns and villages such as Bakundi, Badakoshi, Gangumi, Maikarfi, Dakka, Garin Sambo, Pamanga, and Zoban Shakuna. The population of Bali LGA is put at 108, 566 inhabitants with the vast majority being members of the Fulani, Mumuye and Jukun ethnic divisions. Islam and Christianity are the common religious divisions in Bali LGA with the fufulde and Hausa languages spoken in the area.


GEOGRAPHY OF BALI

Bali LGA falls under the Tropical Savannah Climate and covers a total area of 9,146 square kilometres. The humidity of the area is estimated at 16 percent while the average temperature is put at 33 degrees centigrade. Bali LGA features two distinct seasons which are the rainy and dry seasons with the rainy season being the shorter of the two and characterized by light and intermittent showers.


ECONOMY OF BALI

Agriculture is a key economic activity in Bali LGA with the area producing crops such as millet, rice, and onions. Other important economic engagements of the people of Bali LGA include mat making, pottery, hunting, and Animal rearing. Trade is also a major economic activity in Bali with several markets dotting the area’s landscape.
