Omoba Adekunle Kosoko popularly known as Adekunle Gold is a prince of Lagos and member of the famous Kosoko royal house of Lagos.He is the only son of his parent and he has 3 sisters, though one is of blessed memory. He is nephew to legendary Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko.

Adekunle added Gold to his name after a session in church with the inspiration coming from an excerpt of the pastor’s preaching.

His dad used to play classic songs by King Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey while he drove them to school every day and Adekunle developed interest in music from listening to those men.

He wrote his first song when he was only 15 years old and went on to join the Junior choir of his church because even though his father is Muslim, he allowed them to explore other religons.

He studied Arts and Design at the Lagos State Polytechnic while majoring in Graphics.

Before his entry into the mainstream music industry, Adekunle Gold went viral after photo-shopping himself into photos of popular celebs, like Tiwa Savage which earned him the title, ‘King of Photoshop’. That year, 2015 he was number 3 on the list of the most searched persons on Google in Nigeria.

Prior to signing for YBNL, he had a working relationship with the label as he designed their logo and the artworks of some of the label's signed artiste.

Adekunle Gold is a singer, songwriter, sculptor and a graphic designer. In the early days of his career, Adekunle formed a band 'The Bridge' with his best friend, Seyikeyz in 2010 and they released four songs 'No sleeping on a bicycle', 'Norm Breaker' and 'All of me' (John legend cover).The group featured acts like Skales and GT the guitarman before it was disbanded in 2013 with Adekunle Gold working on establishing his act as a solo artist and his friend, Seyi producing for him.

Adenkule Gold who identifies into two genres - Urban highlife and RnB after disbanding from 'The bridge' released his His first song as a solo act, 'Let it Stop', which is a song promoting peace for the nation before going on to release his version of One Direction's 'Story Of My Life' in 2014, which he titled 'SADE'. This song enjoyed massive airplay and got him signed to YBNL.

In 2015, Adekunle released another single under YBNL titled 'Orente', the song was quite a hit in thesame year and was inspired by a true-life experience. He released his album 'Gold' under the YBNL label.

Following his departure from YBNL Nation due to the expiry of his contract, Adekunle Gold unveiled his band 'The 79th Element' Adekunle Gold has gone on to debut on Kunle Afolayan’s movie thriller, ‘The CEO’.

On the 15th of January, 2018, Unity Bank unveiled Adekunle Gold as her brand ambassador.

Adekunle Gold is rumoured to be in a relationship with ‘Jamb Question’ singer, Simi although this has not been confirmed by either of them.
