Data Processing Officer Job Description

Data Processing Officers Operate Computers And Other Communications Equipment And May Perform Data Entry Work As Part Of A Larger Data Processing System. Being A Data Processing Officers Is A Very Detail-oriented Job Involving Many Repetitive Duties.

In Addition To Inputting, Organizing, And Cataloging Data, A Data Processing Officer May Also Be Responsible For Performing Quality Control Checks, Identifying Job Problems, And Ensuring That Job Orders Are Completed According To Schedule.

Data Processing Officer Duties/Functions/Responsibilities

  • Organizes documents; prepares and codes data for entry into computer system.
  • Enters data into system via on-line terminals and other data entry devices; verifies for accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigates and reconciles any discrepancies in files.
  • Answers phone; screens calls; responds to any inquiries or transfers call to appropriate office or individual; composes correspondence in response to inquiries.
  • Maintains library of any reference material needed to ensure accurate coding.
  • Files material into proper location.
  • Assists with other work processing or other tasks as needed
