Joseph Gbolahan Dada completed his primary education at St. Peters Catholic School in 1962. He then moved to the UK where he attended Aberdeen College of Commerce and graduated with a Diploma in Commerce in 1972 after which he proceeded to Robert Gordon University Aberdeen, United Kingdom where he obtained an Advanced Diploma in Commerce in 1975.

Before venturing into mainstream politics, Joseph Dada held several roles in the Banking and Financial sector such as Director at Savannah Bank Nigeria Plc from 1993 to 1994 as well as Afri Bank Nigeria Plc from 1994 to 2000.

He was also the Director Joe-Han Network Market from 1985 to 2015.

In the 2015 elections, Dada contested for the seat of the Ogun West Senatorial District on the Platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and was successful.
