Lazarus Muoka

Lazarus Muoka was born into a Roman Catholic family in Mgbidi, Oru West local government area of Imo state. He is a Nigerian pastor and the founder and General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement.

Lazarus Muoka Early Life

Muoka finished his primary and secondary school education in Mgbidi. In 1975, he moved into Lagos and worked for some time under a company before starting up his own business which he did until he gave his life to Christ as a full Christian

Mouka claims to have had many dreams from God in 1994 prompting him to pull out from the church he was serving as a pastor and set up his own church. Describing his experience he said, "I first heard the word of God in the bus. A preacher preached and told us how we should give our lives to Christ. But I knew that what he preached was good and that one should be born again. The yearning to become a child of God where that truth can be preached made me continue to search for a place where the word of God is preached very well."

Shortly after pulling out from his old church, he set up The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement with the aim of “preaching the word of God”. The church which was founded on December 24th, 2002, began in a rented apartment at No.16 Odunaike Street Ilasamaja, Lagos, and in few months increased has has members across Nigeria's major cities.

Muoka performs "miracles" in his numerous nationwide crusades which have been described as “stage-managed” and “fake”. A former member of the church once accused the cleric of shortchanging him of ?317million after making an unwritten agreement with to invest in the church. The church denied the allegations. 

As an author, Mouka has written several books including: How God Called Me, Mark My Words, And Ye Shall Receive Power, and Ye Must Be Born Again.
