Damasus started her career as a singer in Lagos where she used to work as a studio session singer at the famous Klink studios and this was were she honed her skills before going on to do vocals for the top Jingle on Radio and Television in Nigeria at that time.

She first appeared on Television in 1992 but became famous for her second movie 'Breaking Point' which was produced by Emem Isong and directed by Francis Agu and since then has gone on to star in over 70 movies.

She is the cofounder of 12radio and hosts two podcast shows - 'undiluted with Stella Damasus' and 'When Women Praise'

Damasus married her first husband Jaiye Aboderin in 1999 and they had two daughters before his sudden demise in 2015. She remarried in 2007, this time to Emeka Nzeribe which lasted for only seven months before they agreed mutually to a divorce. In 2011, she became associated with Daniel Ademinokan and they have been together since then.
