Isialangwa south local government area is in Abia state which is situated in the South-east geopolitical enclave of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Omuoba and the LGA comprises of towns and villages such as Ovu Ngwa, Umuotiri, Isiala Nvosi, Amaku, Ovu-ukwu, Omoba, Okpuala, Mbutu, and Amaise. The estimated population of Isialngwa south LGA is put at 179,549 inhabitants with the vast majority of the area’s dwellers being members of the Ngwa sub-division of the Igbo ethnic group. The Igbo language is predominantly spoken in the LGA while Christianity is the most practiced religion in the area.
