About Ningi Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Ningi local government area is found in Bauchi state, North-east geopolitical enclave of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Ningi while towns and villages that make up the LGA include Magani, Burra, Nasaru, Ningi, Darazo, and Gadar Maiwa. The estimated population of Ningi LGA is put at 239,548 inhabitants with the area hosting members of diverse ethnic affiliations which include the Fa’awa, Warjawa, Ningi, and Ari. Ningi LGA is a part of the Ningi Emirate and has a number of notable landmarks such as the Ningi School of health Technology.


Ningi LGA covers a total area of 4,625 square kilometres and has an average temperatue of 32 degrees centigrade. The LGA witnesses two distinct seasons which are the dry and the rainy seasons. The average wind speed in the LGA is estimated at 10 km/h.


Ningi LGA is a majorly agrarian society known for the cultivation of a number of crops and the rearing of a variety of animals. Crops grown in Ningi LGA include sugarcane, millet, and soyabeans while the animals reared and sold in the LGA include cows, goats and camels. Trade also flourishes in Ningi LGA with the area hosting several markets which provide platforms for the exchange of a variety of goods and services.
