Tafawa Balewa local government area is domiciled in Bauchi state, North-east geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Tafawa Balewa and the area is made up of several towns and villages which include Gongo, Gumel, Malanchi, Gital, Kuturu, Bununu, and Zul. The current estimated population of Tafwa Balewa LGA is put at 254, 701 inhabitants with the area primarily populated by members of the Sayawa ethnic affiliation. The Saya language is commonly spoken in the LGA while the religions of Christianity and Islam are practiced in the area. A number of festivals are held in Tafawa Balewa LGA and these include the NAA LAP Dance festival.
