The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Birnin Gwari with the area consisting of several towns and villages which include Dangaladima, Danhadau, Tudun, Jega, Mando,Kwaga, Goron Dutse, Bagom, Shittu, and Ungwan Dan Borno. Birnin Gwari also boasts an illustrious Emirate spanning several decades with the Emir as the traditional administrator of the area. The major tribes in Birnin Gwari are the Hausa and the Fulani with the fufulde and Hausa languages spoken extensively within the area. Islam is the commonly practiced religion in Birnin Gwari.
