About Abua/odual Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Abua Odual is a local government area found in Rivers state, Southsouth Nigeria. The headquarter of the Abua Odual LGA is at Abua town and features towns and villages such as Emago-Kugbo, Emekesue, Emelego, Egboama, Amorota, and Amaraka. The Abua Odual LGA was created on the 1st of October 1991 and has its major tribe as the Ekpeye which is a sub group of the Igbo ethnic group.

Abua Odual is home to an annual festival known as the Christmas cultural and Art festival which celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the various towns that make up Abua Odual LGA.


GEOGRAPHY OF ABUA/ODUAL

Abua Odual LGA covers a total estimated area of 704 km squared and has a population of about 213,905 inhabitants. The area has an average temperature of 26 degrees centigrade while humidity is pegged at 83 percent.


ECONOMY OF ABUA/ODUAL

Abua Odual is known for fishing and subsistence farming while crude oil exploration in the area and neighbouring regions contributes the most to the economy of Abua Odual.

HISTORY OF ABUA/ODUAL

Abua Odual LGA was created on the 1st of October 1991.
