About Mubi North Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Mubi North local government area is situated within Adamawa state, North-east geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Mubi and the LGA is made up of several towns and villages which include Mobu, Mayo Bani, Muchalla, Guri, Duga, Bantahi, Tsemo, and Wafango. The estimated population of Mubi north LGA is put at 188,301 inhabitants with the area mostly populated by members of the Gude Nzanyi and Fali ethnic divisions. The Gude Nzanyi language is spoken in Mubi North while the religions of Christianity and Islam are practiced in the area. Mubi North LGA is a part of the Mubi Emirate and has a number of notable landmarks such as the Adamawa state University and the Federal Polytechnic Mubi.

Mubi North LGA witnesses two distinct seasons which are the dry and the rainy seasons with the average temperature of the LGA put at 32 degrees centigrade. The LGA has an average wind speed of 10km/h while the average humidity level of the LGA is put at 23 percent.


ECONOMY OF MUBI NORTH

Trade is an important feature of the economy of Mubi North LGA with the area hosting several markets such as the popular Mubi cattle market where a variety of domestic animals are bought and sold. Farming is also a key feature of the economy of Mubi North with a variety of crops cultivated in the LGA. Other important occupations of the people of Mubi North LGA include hunting, animal rearing and crafts making.
