Yunusari

Yunusari local government area is found in Yobe state, North-east geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Kanama with the LGA comprising of several towns and villages such as Bukarti, Bulabulin, Kanama, and Zagi Biniri. Yunusari LGA is bordererd by parts of the Niger Republic and has an estimated total population of 271,303 inhabitants with the area majorly inhabited by members of the Hausa/Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa language is commonly spoken in the LGA while the religion of Islam is extensively practiced in the area. Notable landmarks in Yunusari LGA include the Itia Primary School, the Government Secondary School Ynusari, and the Toshia Primary School.

Yunusari LGA covers a total area of 3790 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 33 degrees centigrade. The LGA has the popular Burun Gana River flowing through its territory with the average humidity level in the area put at 27 percent.

ECONOMY OF YUNUSARI

Farming is a major economic activity engaged in by the people of Yunusari LGA with the area known for the cultivation of a number of crops such as groundnut, beans, maize, millet, and sorghum. A number of domestic animals such as donkeys and camels are reared and sold in the LGA. Other important occupations of the people of Yunusari LGA include trade, pottery, and food processing.
