About Dandi Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Dandi local government area is in Kebbi state, Northwest geopolitical zone of Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Kamba. The towns and villages that make up Dandi LGA include Dole Kaina, Sabon Birnin, Fana Fingilla, Rundu Bussa, Maigwaza, Kuka, and Geza. The population of Dandi LGA is estimated at 135,891 inhabtants with the most prominent tribe being the  Dandi ethnic sub-division. Dandi local government area shares borders with Niger Republic, Bunza LGA and the Benin Republic. The popular spoken language in Dandi LGA is Hausa while Islam is the widely practiced religion. Prominent festivals held in Dandi LGA include the Zaro festival and the Kamba fishing festival.


GEOGRAPHY OF DANDI

Dandi local government area covers a total area of 2,003 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 34 degrees centigrade. The average humidity of the area is put at 15 percent while the area experiences two distinct seasons which are the rainy and the dry seasons.


ECONOMY OF DANDI

Crop cultivation is a major occupation of the people of Dandi LGA with a variety of crops grown in the area. Other prominent economic enterprises in the area include Fishing, animal rearing and trade with the LGA hosting several markets where buyers and sellers meet to exchange a plethora of goods and services.
