Amuwo-odofin local government area is one of the twenty LGAs in Lagos state, Southwest Nigeria. Amuwo-odofin consists of two Local council development areas which are the Oriade LCDA and the Amuwo LCDA. The LGA is made up of several districts which include Abule Osun, Agboju, Ifelodun, Orire, Irede, and Ijegun.
Amuwo-Odofin has an estimated population of 547,800 inhabitants with the majority of the dwellers being members of the Yoruba ethnic group. Christianity and Islam are the dominant religious affiliations in Amuwo-Odofin while Yoruba and English are the commonly spoken languages.
