Langtang North

Langtang North local government area is domiciled in Plateau state, North-central geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Towns and villages that make up Langtang North LGA include Danga, Mabe, Nyer, Taroh, Zanko, Pock, Nyattang, and Mban. The estimated population of Langtang North LGA is put at 185,629 inhabitants with the vast majority of the area’s populace made up of people from the Tarok ethnic affiliation. The Tarok language is commonly spoken in Langtang North while the religions of Christianity and Islam are practiced in the area. Prominent traditional rulers in Langtang North LGA include the Ponzhi Taroh while notable landmarks in the area include the Langtang dam.

Langtang North has a viable Agricultural sector with the area known for the cultivation of a number of crops such as potatoes, pepper, onions, tomatoes and cucumber. A number of animals are also reared and sold in the area especially by the Fulani dwellers. Trade is also a key component of Langtang North LGA with the area hosting several markets where a variety of commodities are bought and sold.
