About Adavi Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Adavi local government area is found in Kogi state in the Northcentral geopolitical enclave of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. With its headquarters at Ogaminana, Adavi LGA consists of towns and villages such as Ebogogo, Edegu, Atami, Adonukoko, and Idakura. Created on the 27th of August 1991, Adavi LGA has an estimated population of 234,504 inhabitants with Christianity and Islam as the widely practiced religions.

 Adavi LGA is home to the popular Ebe Festival and the area features notable landmarks such as the Oboronyi hills in Oganinama, and the Ahucheba spring water in Oniyeka.

 


GEOGRAPHY OF ADAVI

Adavi local government area covers a total area of 718 km squared and has an average temperature of 29 degrees centigrade with an estimated humidity of 67 percent. Adavi local government area has two distinct seasons which are the dry and the rainy seasons.


ECONOMY OF ADAVI

Adavi has a rich agricultural and commercial heritage with markets such as the Zango cattle market and the Cassava market in Osara town providing platforms for the exchange of a wide range of goods and services.

Adavi local government area was created on the 27th day of August 1991.
