Ankpa

Ankpa local government area is domiciled in Kogi state, Northcentral Nigeria. With the headquarters in the town of Ankpa, the local government area boasts towns and villages such as Aguma, Ejegbo, Ikanekpo, Ofagele, Ojapata, Ubele, Bagele, and Gwoche. Ankpa LGA is home to a number of tribal affiliations with the dominant tribe being the Igala. Christianity and Islam have the major followerships in the area with the Igala and English languages being the commonly spoken in the area.  Popular landmarks in Ankpa LGA include the Zuma Mining Company.

ECONOMY OF ANKPA

Ankpa local government area is known for the cultivation of a number of crops which include Yam, cassava, guineacorn, and oil palm. The area is also rich in minerals with the most common being coal. Commerce is also a lucrative economic enterprise in Ankpa with markets such as the Enjema and the Ikebe Central markets attracting hundreds of customers.
