About Abadam Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Abadam local government area is located in Borno state which is found in the Northeast geopolitical region of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The LGA has its headquarters in the town of Malumfatori and comprises of several towns and villages which include Bisogana, Dareche, Fuguwa, Karinowa, Lariski, Yawakura, Jabulani, and Arege.

The population of Abadam local government area is estimated at 204,775 inhabitants with a vast majority of these being members of the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. Islam is the widely practiced religion in Abadam with Hausa as the majorly spoken language.

Abadam local government area is located on the western coast of Lake Chad and covers a total area of 3,973 km squared .


ECONOMY OF ABADAM

Subsistence farming and cattle rearing are important economic features of the Abadam LGA while commerce thrives here with the presence of several markets such as the Garere town market and the Gubio Camel market.
