Konduga

Konduga local government area is in Borno state, Northeast Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Konduga. Konduga LGA is part of the Borno Emirate ad consists of several town s and villages such as Mainari, Konduga, Auno, Yaleri, Ngalimari, Sandia, Jakana, and Ghabbol. The estimated population of Konduga LGA is put at 224,791 inhabitants with the vast majority of the area’s population made up of members of the Kanuri ethnic group. The Kanuri language is commonly spoken in the area while the religion of Islam is widely practiced in the area.

Konduga LGA lies on the banks of the Ngadda river and has an average temperature of 34 degrees centigrade. The LGA has an average humidity level of 21 percent while the average wind speed in the area is put at 10 km/h.

ECONOMY OF KONDUGA

Trade is an important aspect of the economy of Konduga LGA with the area hosting a number of markets such as the Konduga fish market which attracts hundreds of buyers and sellers. Farming is another important activity in the area with crops such as millet and sorghum grown in the area. Other important economic activities engaged in by the people of Konduga LGA include fishing, pottery, and hunting.
