About Ndokwa East Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Ndokwa east local government area is domiciled in Delta state, South-south geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Aboh and the LGA is made up of several towns and villages such as Ashaka, Aboh, Okoliko, Anyama, Oka, Ibrede, Akarai, Onogbokor, and Igbuku. The current estimated population of Ndokwa east LGA is put at 193,404 inhabitants with the vast majority of the area’s dwellers being members of the Ukwuani ethnic division. The Ukwuani dialect is commonly spoken in the area while the religion of Christianity is widely practiced in the LGA.

Ndokwa east LGA has an average temperature of 25 degrees centigrade and hosts several rivers and streams. The total precipitation in the LGA is put at an estimated 2950 mm of rainfall while the average humidity level in the area is put at 73 percent.


ECONOMY OF NDOKWA EAST

Ndokwa east LGA is rich in reserves of crude oil and natural gas and the activities of Oil mining firms in and around the area contribute immensely to the economy of the LGA. Fishing is also an important aspect of the economy of Ndokwa east LGA with the area’s rivers and streams being rich in seafood. Other important economic activities in Ndokwa east LGA include farming, trade, sculpting, craftsmaking, and the construction of fishing nets and canoes.
