About Kirika Samma Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Kirika Samma local government area is in Jigawa state, North-west Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Kirika Samma. Kirika Samma LGA is bordered by the Birniwa, Malam Mandoni, Guri, and Auyo LGAs. Towns and villages that make up Kirika Samma LGA include Madachi, Tarabu, Fandum, Bulunchai, Tsheguwa, Doleri, Gayin, and Kirika Samma. The estimated population of Kirika Samma LGA is 183,508 inhabitants with the vast majority of the area’s inhabitants being members of the Hausa ethnic group. The Hausa language is extensively spoken in the area while the religion of Islam is widely practiced in the area. Kirika Samma LGA is also part of the prestigious Hadejia Emirate.

Agriculture is an important part of the economy of Kirika Samma LGA with the area known for the cultivation of a number of crops. Also, a number of animals such as cows and rams are reared in the LGA. Other important economic activities of the people of Kirika Samma LGA include hunting, trade, and blacksmithing.
