Dan Musa

Dan Musa local government area is found in Katsina state, Northwest Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Dan Musa. The LGA is made up of a number of towns and villages which include Yan Tumaki, Yashi, and Wurmawa. Dan Musa LGA is part of the prestigious Katsina Emirate and has an estimated population of 111,042 inhabitants. The most prominent tribal affiliation is the Fulani ethnic division while the Fufulde language is commonly spoken in the area. The Islam religion is also widely practiced in Dan Musa LGA.

GEOGRAPHY OF DAN MUSA

Dan Musa LGA sits on a total area of 792 square kilometres and is characterized by large forest reserves.  The average temperature of the area is 34 degrees centigrade while the humidity level of the LGA is put at 18 percent.

ECONOMY OF DAN MUSA

A number of crops such as cotton, groundnuts, soya beans, sugarcane, millet and beans are grown in Dan Musa LGA. Cattle rearing and trade are also key economic features of the LGA while the area has an appreciable amount of mineral deposits such as kaolin, iron-ore and Silica. Trade also booms in the area with the LGA hosting several markets.
