Safana

Safana local government area is found in Katsina state, North-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The LGA shares borders with parts of Zamfara state and constituted a part of the Katsina Emirate. The LGA is made up of several towns and villages such as Barkiya, Gora, Guzarawa, Gwanzo, Unadau, Tamawa, Runka, and Kware. The estimated population of Safana LGA is put at 180,732 inhabitants with the LGA primarily populated by members of the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa and Fufulde languages are commonly spoken in the LGA while the religion of Islam is widely practiced in the area. Prominent traditional rulers in Safana LGA include the Yariman Katsina.

The LGA also has a vibrant trade sector with the area hosting several markets where a variety of commodities are bought and sold.
