About Musawa Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Musawa local government area is found in Katsina state, North-west Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Musawa. The LGA is made up of several towns and villages such as Dan Kado, Katoge, Zodawa, Sako, Kuru, Garu, Filalawa, and Daminawa. Musawa LGA is part of the prestigious Katsina Emirate and boasts an estimated population of 188,941 inhabitants. The dominant ethnic group in Musawa LGA is the Fulani tribe while the commonly spoken languages in the area include the Hausa and Fulani languages. The religion of Islam is commonly practiced in the LGA.

Musawa LGA covers a total area of 849 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 34 degrees centigrade. The average humidity level in Musawa LGA is put at 19 percent while the average wind speed is estimated at 10 km/h.


ECONOMY OF MUSAWA

Farming is a key economic activity in Musawa LGA with crops such as rice, groundnuts, cowpea and sugarcane grown in large quantities within the area. The rearing and sales of a number of domestic animals such as camels, donkeys, and cows is also popular in Musawa LGA. Other important enterprises undertaken by the people of Musawa LGA include hunting and leatherworks.
