Mai'adua

Mai Adua local government area is in Katsina state, Northwest Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Mai’Adua. Mai Adua LGA is bordered by parts of the Niger Republic and by parts of Daura, Dutsi, and Sandamu LGAs. Towns and villages that make up Mai Adua LGA include Bumbum, Galadimawa, Daba, Guzu, Kahe, Tuga, Yarogel, Shabewa, Koza, and Yandi. The estimated population of Mai Adua LGA is put at 189,643 inhabitants with the vast majority of the area’s dwellers being members of the Fulani ethnic extraction. The Fufulde language is commonly spoken in the area while the religion of Islam is widely practiced in the LGA. Notable landmarks in Mai Adua LGA include the Sabke dam.
