Young Progressive Party (YPP) is one of the political parties in Nigeria approved by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). A political party is an organised group of people, often with common views and interests, who come together to contest elections and hold power in government.

Young Progressive Party was formed in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, founded by people of like-minds upon social democratic principles and inclusive governance, to provide a veritable platform for all Nigerians irrespective of tribe and religion with special focus on young minds with active energy, skills, innovation, current ideas and modern technology to participate in political processes and form governance structure that will enhance progress, reforms and sustainable development in our country.
