The Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro is designated Centre of Excellence in Agriculture by the Delta State Government due to the large expanse of the School land area under cultivation and moderately stocked Livestock Farm. The School of Agriculture currently runs the following two years programmes:

(1) National Diploma in Agricultural Technology.

(2) Higher National Diploma in Agricultural Extension and Management

(3) National Diploma (ND) in Fisheries Technology.

The National Diploma Programme in Agricultural Technology is designed to produce middle manpower Agricultural Technicians who are capable of applying modern farming techniques in direct agricultural production, while the HND Programme in Agricultural

Extension and Management is to produce technically competent agricultural manpower to carry out extension work among the rural populace and also to perform administrative and financial management of Agricultural enterprises.

The School of Agriculture engages in Research, teaching/learning and commercial Agricultural Production.

The Teaching and Commercial Farm comprises of both Livestock/Poultry Section and Crop Production Section. The Livestock on the Farm are Cattle, Sheep and Goats, Pigs and Rabbits. The Poultry Unit housed Commercial Pullets for table egg production and Broiler birds for meat production. The Crop production Section has Pineapple Orchard, Citrus Orchard, Cashew Orchard, Oil Palm Plantation and Rubber Plantation.

The small Scale Oil Palm Processing Mill produces oil palm produce at regular intervals for sale at considerable price to the Polytechnic Staff, Ozoro Community and its environs. The School of Agriculture is manned by highly qualified Teaching and Non-teaching Staff.

There are three Delta State Polytechnic institutions in Delta State, Nigeria, all established on 12 November 2002, located in Ogwashi-Uku (Aniocha South Local Government Area), Ozoro (Isoko North Local Government Area), and Otefe-Oghara, Oghara (Ethiope West Local Government Area). The Government of Delta State reached an understanding with the University of Westminster, London to assist in management and technical support for the institutions. The institutions are centres of excellence in Agriculture, Computing and Information Technology, Fashion Design and Arts and Sports. Besides their primary areas of specialization, all students are trained in Computing and Information Technology as well as business and entrepreneurship.
