About Ola-oluwa Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Ola Oluwa local government area is domiciled in Osun state, South-west geopolitical enclave of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Bode Osi and the LGA is made up of several towns and villages which include Ikire ile, Iwara, Bode Osi, Obamoro, Ille Ogo, Asa, Ajagun lase, Ajagba, and Telemu. The estimated population of Ola Oluwa LGA is put at 103,600 inhabitants with the area mostly populated by members of the Yoruba ethnic group. The Yoruba language is widely spoken in the LGA while the religions of Christianity and Islam are practiced in the area. Notable landmarks in the LGA include the popular Ola Oluwa Muslim Grammar School.


GEOGRAPHY OF OLA-OLUWA

Ola Oluwa LGA covers a total area of 328 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 28 degrees centigrade. The LGA witnesses two major seasons which are the dry and the rainy seasons with the dry seasons in the area usually occurring between the months of November to March while the rainy seasons usually occur between the months of April to October.


ECONOMY OF OLA-OLUWA

Farming is a key economic activity in Ola Oluwa LGA with crops such as cocoa and rice grown in the area. Trade also flourishes in the area with the LGA hosting several markets which provide the platforms for the exchange of a wide variety of goods and services. Other important enterprises of the people of Ola Oluwa LGA include animal rearing and craftsmanship.
