Surulere

Surulere local government area is domiciled in Oyo state, South-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Iresa-Adu. The LGA is made up of several towns and villages which include Iresa-adu, Igbon, Iresa-apa, Fasina, Gbena, Baasa, Labode, Omonijuku, and Okiti. The estimated population of Surulere LGA is put at 163,400 inhabitants with the area primarily populated by members of the Yoruba ethnic group. The Yoruba language is commonly spoken in the LGA while the religions of Christianity and Islam are widely practiced in the area. Prominent traditional rulers in Surulere LGA include the Olugbon of Igbon.
