Gezawa

Gezawa local government area is in Kano state which is in the Northwest geopolitical division of Nigeria.  The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Gezawa and the area consists of several towns and villages which include Tsamiya Babba, Abasawa, Dagazam, Gunduwawa, Tumbau, Zango, Jogana, and Charo. The estimated population of Gezawa LGA is 167,803 inhabitants with the majority of the area’s inhabitants being members of the Hausa and Fulani ethnic divisions. The Fufulde and Hausa languages are spoken in the area while Islam is the most practiced religion in the area.

Gezawa LGA occupies a total area of 340 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 34 degrees centigrade. The humidity level of the LGA is at an average of 22 percent while the average wind speed is 9km/h.

ECONOMY OF GEZAWA

Gezawa LGA is known for the cultivation of a number of crops such as sorghum, cotton, millet, and rice. The area is also known for the rearing of animals such as rams, horses and cows. Gezawa LGA hosts several markets which provide the inhabitants of the area with platforms to exchange a variety of goods and services. These include the Dausayi and the Kasuwar duniya markets.
