Tudun Wada

Tudun Wada local government area is one of the fourty-four LGAs found in Kano state, North-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The LGA is made up of several towns and villages which include Sumana, Dalawa, Janmaje, Ruwan Tabo, Rugurugu, Kafin Dalawa, Gazobi, and Burun Burun. The estimated population of Tudun Wada LGA is put at 179,004 inhabitants with the area mostly occupied by members of the Hausa/Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa and the Fufulde languages are spoken in the LGA while the religion of Islam is predominantly practiced in the area. Notable landmarks in Tudun Wada LGA include the Nata’ala Bridge and the College of Arts and Science, Tudun Wada.

Tudun Wada LGA has an average temperature of 32 degrees centigrade with the area hosting a number of small hills. Tudun Wada LGA witnesses two major seasons which are the dry and the rainy seasons with the total precipitation in the area put at 1200 mm of rainfall per annum.

ECONOMY OF TUDUN WADA

Tudun Wada LGA has a rich trade sector with the area hosting a number of markets such as the Kofar Ruwa market which attracts several buyers and sellers of different commodities. Farming is also an important economic activity in Tudun Wada LGA with the area known for the cultivation of a wide variety of crops which include groundnut, rice, beans, and millet. Crafts making and animal rearing are some of the other occupations of the people of Tudun Wada.
